When I was a kind on family trips, my parents always used to pick up a bottle of scotch duty free and slowly drink it throughout the trip. Until recently I hadn’t followed their lead.
However, when I was in Fes I ran into a couple of Irish lasses who had the foresight to buy a bottle of gin before heading into what they knew would be a dry country. They were kind enough to share their stash, and after a fun evening I was convinced of the wisdom of my parents and resolved to buy duty free booze in the future.
I just took a jaunt over to the US for a few days and bought a bottle of whiskey on my way there. The bottle served me well, serving as a centerpiece to an after-party, and then slowly ending up empty a couple of nights later as a friend and I sat around chatting. So now I’m a total convert, and just picked up a couple of bottles to enjoy when I return home. I highly recommend duty free booze next time you travel.
